Never Go in Against a Sicilian When Death Is on the Line

Or, Advice for those who know writers.

“Never argue with a songwriter. They will always get the last word.” ~Lucinda Williams

I think you can take the “song” qualifier out of that statement. Any time you feud or fight with a writer, you might be creating a template for a fight–or maybe just an antagonist–that will be used in their work someday.

The only question is whether you will encounter that work, and, having encountered it, recognize yourself in the mangled, reformed, patchwork character. As I’ve said before, I bet many people don’t.

The more fool they.
